M'lou Walker — Chief Executive Officer

M'lou has over 25 years experience in the marketing and management of healthcare products. Prior to joining Matrixx in February, 2012, she was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Scerene Healthcare, a venture capital backed start-up focused on product and brand development in the personal care and skin care space.

Previously, M'lou led the marketing and advertising of Mucinex® and Delsym® as the Senior Vice President, Marketing for Adams Respiratory Therapeutics. M'lou joined Adams in 2004 as the Director of Marketing and was a lead architect in the growth of the Mucinex and Delsym franchises, including the development of the award-winning “Mr. Mucus” advertising campaign. She played a key role in growing the Adams business from $60 million to nearly $500 million over the span of 4 years. Adams was sold to Reckitt Benckiser in 2008 for $2.3 billion.

Prior to Adams, M'lou managed a broad spectrum of OTC and HBA businesses at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare and its predecessor Warner Lambert Consumer Healthcare including Listerine®, Lubriderm®, Benadryl® and e.p.t.® Over the course of her career, M'lou has won several marketing, advertising and PR awards. She was named one of the top 50 marketers of the year by Advertising Age in 2006, one of the top 20 marketers of the year by OTC Perspectives in 2008, and sits on the board of directors of the Consumer Healthcare Products Association. She began her career in commercial banking with Chase Manhattan Bank. M'lou received her M.B.A from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in Marketing and Management of Organizations, and her B.A. from Yale University.


Sam Kamdar — Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer

Sam Kamdar joined Matrixx Initiatives in June 2011 as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. His industry background spans consumer products, healthcare, food, and building materials with employers including complex, global manufacturers American Standard, Schering-Plough HealthCare Products, Ocean Spray Cranberries, and Nestlé Foods. Sam was Chief Operating Officer at American Standard. Previously, Sam was Vice President & General Manager of the Chinaware Division, the company's largest division. Before joining American Standard, Sam was the Senior Sales & Marketing Finance Manager at Schering-Plough HealthCare Products. Sam began his career as a CPA in public accounting. Sam holds a BS from Rutgers in Finance, an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Boston College, CPA certification, and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.


Tim Clarot — Senior Vice President Research & Development & Product Quality

Tim joined Matrixx in 2000, overseeing Research and Development, Quality Assurance, Consumer Affairs and Regulatory. Tim provided the technology framework which enabled the expansion of the Zicam brand into innovative oral delivery platforms for its Cold Remedy products, allopathic symptom relief products and Matrixx’s patented intranasal swab delivery format.

Tim has over 33 years experience in consumer products R&D and operations. He has been granted numerous patents and has over 30 patents pending. Tim has served as chairman of company-sponsored scientific and dental advisory boards and has managed the conduct of over 25 OTC clinical trials.

Prior to Matrixx, Tim held various senior technical and operational positions with Reckitt & Colman (Reckitt Benckiser). He graduated from California State University Fresno with a degree in chemistry.


Ken DeBaene — Senior Vice President of Sales

Ken brings over 28 years of consumer health product sales and marketing experience leading retail, professional and managed care customer organizations and initiatives. He joined the Matrixx team in June 2012 following his role as Strategy Director at a boutique healthcare marketing and switch strategy firm.

In the role of VP, Professional Sales and Marketing at Johnson and Johnson Consumer Companies, Ken led the ground-breaking Zyrtec managed care strategy as well as the Oral Care Dental Program from 2007 through mid-2009. Prior to Johnson and Johnson’s acquisition of the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare (PCH) business at the end of 2006, Ken served as Sr. Director, Professional Sales and Marketing where his efforts to transform the strategic direction and impact of that organization earned him recognition as the PCH Division Leader of the Year. He also held the role of Director, National Accounts at PCH, leading cross- functional account team leaders and guiding the team to achieving growth rates that were double the rates of their customers.

Ken’s career started at Warner Lambert, where his performance earned him roles of increasing responsibility and developmental assignments in brand management, leading the consumer division’s sales strategy department, and regional sales leadership. He had served as GM, Kmart Business Team for four years just prior to the acquisition of Warner Lambert by Pfizer, Inc.

Ken earned his B.S. in Marketing and M.B.A. from Northwest Missouri State University.


Lori Norian — Vice President of Marketing

Lori leads all marketing efforts for Matrixx. Before joining in 2013, Lori spent over 15 years in the consumer packaged goods industry in a variety of brand management roles. Prior to her career in brand management, Lori worked for 5 years in management and process consulting with Andersen Consulting.

Most recently, Lori worked at Unilever where she marketed several of their largest foods businesses. On the Hellmann’s® brand, Lori was responsible for the renovation and communication behind the brand’s fastest growing variant along with brand and strategic planning, media strategy and market development partnerships. Prior to this, Lori worked in on the Ragu® and Bertolli® pasta sauce businesses where she drove communication, strategy and innovation projects. Prior to her experience at Unilever, Lori worked at Kraft Foods in the Confections Division on Altoids® and Life Savers®.

Before attending business school, Lori was a manager in the Process Competency Group at Accenture (formerly known as Andersen Consulting). Lori received her M.B.A from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in Marketing and Management, her M.S. in Cell Biology from Duke University and her B.S. in Biology from Lehigh University.
